Employability Evaluations
Many legal situations arise that ask the
question "How much can this individual earn in today's labor
market?" That question requires a tremendous amount of
knowledge, research and assessment of the individual's skills, abilities
and background, geographical areas, career fields, competitiveness,
motivation, network, labor market conditions, specific employers'
requirements, turnover rates, etc. Employability Evaluations are
complicated, but given the needs of the legal community, we must
and we do deliver our answers efficiently, comprehensively and
quickly. Here is the process:
The integrity of our "vocational diagnosis"
in an Employability Evaluation depends upon the quality of the information
we can obtain about the individual's work history, educational background,
special skills, abilities, work and volunteer experiences, daily
activities, and physical and emotional limitations, if any. We always
strive to have a personal one-on-one meeting with the individual
being assessed. If we are restricted from a personal meeting due
to the case's legal implications, then we can provide extensive
vocational Deposition Questions to obtain the required background
information.
We translate the individual's vocational
background into transferable skills; the direct link into identifying
other jobs and careers the individual could perform. In-house, Workforce
Dynamics has extensive labor market and employer resources that provide information about labor market
conditions, job demands, job duties and requirements and wage ranges.
To find prevailing wages, benefits, current openings, wage-earnings
potential and employability we place direct telephone calls to local
employers. Our Employability Evaluations are fair-minded, comprehensive,
objective and credible and make a strong statement in a courtroom
or settlement conference with written reporting and/or oral testimony.
Richard Hincks, MA and Susan Martin,
CDMS lead our Vocational Expert team. We have an impressive
team of vocational assistants whose expertise, employer knowledge
and research abilities allows us to respond quickly and competently.
